Bates Site Terms

These terms govern access to Bates County Released Inmates and its links, tools, and written material. Using the site means accepting the terms in full. Anyone who does not agree should stop using the site.

Bates County Released Inmates is privately owned and has no affiliation with a government body, sheriff, jail, or corrections department. Neither the site nor its advertising partners offers services for credit, employment, insurance, tenant screening, or another FCRA-covered purpose. The site points to Bates County and Missouri custody-record resources. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

Scope of the Service

This is a private reference site with no government ties. It stores no official jail, court, or corrections records and cannot confirm custody, release a person, or file a document for a visitor.

Its role is to identify Bates County inmate and jail record sources and provide links to outside research tools. An originating government office remains responsible for its own record.

Acceptable Use Rules

Access is conditioned on lawful, respectful use. A visitor must not:

  • violate any law while using the site;
  • use information to stalk, threaten, or harass;
  • make hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions from site content;
  • attempt access without authorization;
  • operate bots, scrapers, or similar automated collection tools; or
  • interfere with service for other visitors.

No Consumer Reports

The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not provide background checks, credit reports, consumer reports, or screening services, and neither do its advertising partners through this site. Users agree not to apply site information to:

  • hiring, retention, promotion, or termination;
  • tenant selection or housing eligibility;
  • creditworthiness or insurance pricing;
  • licenses, permits, or government-benefit eligibility; or
  • any other decision regulated by the FCRA.

Independent Outside Services

Links may lead to release records, sheriff and corrections sites, government portals, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. A link is not an endorsement. This site is not responsible for an outside service’s content, privacy practices, accuracy, or availability. Review that service’s own terms before using it.

Service Provided As Is

All content and functions are provided “as is” and “as available.” No warranty is made that the site or a partner result will be:

  • accurate, complete, or current;
  • available without interruption;
  • free of errors, bugs, or security flaws; or
  • comprehensive in its search results.

Custody status and public records can change quickly. Nothing published here is an official statement by a sheriff, court, corrections department, or other agency.

Limits on Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site and its owners, operators, and partners are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from access to or use of the site.

User Indemnity

A user agrees to defend and hold the site, its owners, and its partners harmless from claims, losses, and reasonable legal fees arising from that user’s conduct, site use, or breach of these terms.

Ownership of Site Materials

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Bates County Released Inmates or its content partners. They may not be copied, distributed, changed, or republished without prior written permission, except where law permits.

Future Terms Changes

These terms may be revised at any time. A revised version takes effect when it is posted on this page.

Suspending Site Access

Access may be restricted, suspended, or ended at any time and for any reason, with or without advance notice.

Missouri Governing Law

Missouri law governs these terms. Any dispute must be filed in a court with proper jurisdiction within Missouri.

Severability of Terms

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the rest remain effective. The affected provision will be adjusted only as much as needed to make it enforceable.
