MODOC Bates Release Paths
A person committed from Bates County to MODOC leaves the county detention system and enters statewide custody. No MODOC correctional center is identified in Bates County by the current facility directory. The person may be housed in any institution the department designates. The Bates County Jail active roster is no longer the right source after transfer. State custody, state release dates, field supervision, and final discharge must be read from MODOC records.
Prison release has several possible meanings. Parole is discretionary release by the Missouri Parole Board into supervision. Conditional release is a statutory part of many sentences, subject to exceptions and possible extension. A field-office assignment can show that the person is in the community while MODOC supervision continues. Final discharge is separate and may be supported by a completed record or discharge certificate. Do not use “discharged” merely because the assigned place changed from an institution to District 5.

Search MODOC Bates Releases
Begin with the MODOC Offender Web Search. A permanent DOC number is the best search key when known. Otherwise, use the name fields and reconcile the result with date of birth, offense, sentence county, court cause number, and assigned place. The search covers people who are or have been under MODOC custody or supervision. It does not cover a person whose only custody was Bates County Jail.

MODOC Release Date Labels
Missouri’s public date labels answer different questions. The Sentence-I Minimum Release Date is a calculated minimum on an active sentence. The Sentence Maximum Release Date is the maximum or expiration field. A presumptive parole release date is tentative and depends on conduct and an acceptable plan. Missouri’s public-record process allows lawful research and duplication costs. Ask for electronic delivery and an estimate. A custodian generally must respond as soon as possible and no later than the end of the third business day by producing the record or explaining the delay. That response deadline is not always the date of full production.
District 5 Bates Supervision
Bates County belongs to MODOC District 5, administered from Nevada. A field-office assignment is positive evidence that a person may be outside prison on probation, parole, or conditional release. Publicly confirmable categories can include whether a person is under supervision, the supervising office, the supervision term, present offense and judgment, custody or bond status, and a parole or conditional-release date, subject to disclosure limits. Verify a MODOC Bates Discharge
A state record should be reconciled with the legal case and any event notification. No MODOC correctional center was found in Bates County. The county jail cannot confirm the present status of a person already committed to state custody.
