Information You Choose to Send
Search entries
A name, place, or other term entered in a search box is transmitted to the third-party company that operates that tool. Bates County Released Inmates does not keep or log those query terms on its own systems.
Messages
An email or contact-form message may be retained long enough to answer and manage the request. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Standard web systems may record basic technical details when a page loads, including:
- Internet Protocol address;
- browser name and version;
- device category and operating system;
- pages opened and time spent on them;
- the referring website, when available; and
- date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies help measure how visitors use the site. Browser controls can refuse or remove them, though blocking cookies may change how some features work.
Reasons the Data Is Used
Collected data supports ordinary site operations and service delivery. It may be used to:
- keep pages available and responsive;
- send a search request to the selected partner;
- measure which information visitors use;
- diagnose and repair technical faults; and
- display advertising that may reflect likely interests.
Privacy Beyond This Website
Links may lead to sheriff and corrections pages, official release-record portals, or third-party search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination’s own privacy policy governs its collection and use of data.
Advertising partners may also use their systems to measure activity across different websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking occurs under the partner’s practices, not as a Bates County Released Inmates record.
Limited Data Recipients
Personal information is not sold. Depending on the action taken, information may be handled by:
- a search partner processing a submitted query;
- analytics providers measuring site use;
- advertising networks serving ads; or
- law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order.
Reasonable Security, Real Limits
Standard safeguards are used to protect information. No internet-connected system is completely secure, however, so the site cannot promise that a breach or unauthorized access will never occur.
Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may contact the site and request deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and the limits of available records, a visitor may ask to:
- receive a copy of personal data held by the site;
- correct inaccurate personal information;
- erase eligible personal data; or
- opt out of certain processing.
Changes to This Notice
This privacy notice may be revised as site practices or legal duties change. An updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
